Hello dear friends. I stumbled onto this video today by Justice called ‘Stress’. Yes, yes I know it would be considered an old video to the standards of keen hipsters, but today was the first time I saw it. I don’t necessarily like the song that much, too bland, and to me Justice is alright, but this video shook me up! I was speaking to a Parisian girl (shout outs to Elodie my CSer) and she described the gratuitous, wanton violence from the youth of Paris exactly as this video portrays it. It’s a sad reality that not too many people are talking about. It’s not a video about trying to offend in a pretty much offense-less world, but more of a video showing just how messed up, confused, and misdirected youth can be.

The song works amazing for the video, but I can’t listen to the song on its own, without the video.
There will be much more posts now! I’ve been listening to mainly 60s music now, so I think that’s the main reason I haven’t posted in so long.
Ooo. Do a post on 60s beats.
Duane Eddy, The Young Rascals, The Turtles, Kinks, Humble Pie, Fleetwood Mac?? Lend me sum shuga Taha.

Comment by Farah on 09-10-08Hey yojo,
Yea I read lot of reviews on this, and saw some of the interviews, but they were all centered about how controversial the music video is in terms of offending viewers. Not in terms of actually what it was portraying. that’s what threw me off.
I agree with Sal. LOVE ‘Stress’…. the song. The video, i love not so much. I don’t think I will ever understand this video. Good posty miss Taha.

Taha - I’ve been waiting for-ever ever for a post from you.
I actually love Stress by Justice because I feel that the instrumental perfectly embodies that feeling. I actually can not listen to that song without feeling really anxious, aggressive and .. well stressed.
The video also brings all that to life amazingly. So-Me is a god of video-making.
For the hipsters: check out A Cross the Universe. More fire.
